STORY garments are engineered from raw, heavyweight cotton. They are not meant to be babied, but they demand respect. Treat them right, and they will outlast you.
The First Wash
Whether it is heavyweight cotton, raw denim, or luxury linen, our garments contain natural fibers. Wear your garment heavily before its first wash. When the time comes, machine wash inside out on a cold, delicate cycle. Never use bleach or fabric softeners—they destroy the natural fibers.
Air Dry Only
Heat is the enemy of raw fabric. Never tumble dry. Reshape the garment while damp and lay it flat to dry in the shade. Direct sunlight will accelerate fading prematurely.
Earning the Patina
The beauty of a bespoke engineered fabric is how it molds to your body. Creases will set in at the elbows, the color will naturally crock, and the edges will fray beautifully. Do not try to keep it pristine. The patina is the story.
Storage
Do not hang heavy cotton on thin wire hangers, as this will distort the shoulders. Fold the garment or use a thick wooden suit hanger. Store in a cool, dry place.
